Our Story

Working off of the success of our inaugural Utah giveaway in 2015, giving away 200 bicycles, we are working towards collecting and donating 1,000 bike this December. Free Bike 4 Kidz began in 2008 giving away 300 bikes in Minneapolis, last year – 6000 bikes, this year – who knows. In the last seven years over 25,000 bikes have rolled through our giveaways and we’re not done yet—our future sights are set on other locations throughout the US and the world.

Mission & Purpose

Free Bikes 4 Kidz is a non-profit organization geared toward helping all kids ride into a happier, healthier childhood by providing bikes to those most in need. The public donates gently used bikes, we organize thousands of volunteers to clean and refurbish them, and then we give them away to kids in need.

Our Method

Every year 25 million bikes are sold in the US. One-third of those bikes are 20” wheel-size, or smaller. Since kids grow like weeds, over 8 million bikes are virtually outgrown each year. Endless supply. Sustainability.

Our Partners

Through the generous help of key partners like Nate Wade Subaru, QBP, Intermountain Health, and Park Tool, we can turn a lot of dusty bikes into shiny smiles!  We still need support in building the foundation to help every kid ride into a more memorable childhood.  To learn more about becoming a sponsor, please email jeff.fb4kut@gmail.com.
